A burn-off oven (also known as bake-out oven) is an industrial oven designed to remove organic residues—such as paint, powder coating, rubber, grease, and insulation—from metal parts through controlled thermal decomposition. Rather than relying on solvents or abrasive methods, it uses high-temperature pyrolysis to convert contaminants into gaseous byproducts that are safely incinerated, leaving only clean metal surfaces.

- Primary Heating
- The work chamber is heated—often via electric elements or gas burners (primary combustion) — to varying temperatures in a low-oxygen environment.
- Pyrolysis and Afterburning
- Decomposed vapors exit the main oven and enter a secondary combustion chamber (afterburner may vary) held at roughly 760 °C, or varying depending on customer requirements.
